Still running hard

I dont know what it is but I love it.   Last week I started back in school for a month.   I am a Computer network and support Engineer by trade and Education.   But I am a Video director and part time show host by choice and affection.   My last computer job was for GE installing and upgrading PACS (Picture archiving and communication systems).   Well it ended over a year ago and things went slow.   I tried my hand at club promotions and made some money but it wasnt what I needed to get out there.  We had dabbled with an idea of a youtube show (ClubPatrol) and seen moderate success so we moved to cable in Sept ’09 when the chance came up, and have done very well. What Club Patrol needs is money, the thing we don’t have.  We have talent, format & concept, dedication be cause the ladies of  “Club Patrol” are very dedicated.

A long story short what the Show needs is to be branded and branding takes money.  We have a whole list of things currently in place (for a low a budget as possible) to make “Club Patrol” something really big but its going to take money.  Well a few weeks ago I get a call from a school the area that has funding for people with certain computer skill to go back and be certified for Microsoft and /or Cisco (industry leaders in technology).  Of course I meet those skills, of course I go fill out the papers with the state, take the skills assessment test, pass and get signed up for CCNA and MSP combo package.  The first day of school I get a call from my old contract company about a PACS opportunity that will last about 3 months and with travel & overtime will pay approx 30k.  I was called because of the 3 years I had put in with GE.  Now that I  was going to get my cisco certs the playing field leveled and by early summer “Club Patrol” will have the money for branding, marketing and many other things. 

We are still above 100 mph we have 3 superbowl parties this weekend, 2 new clubs that we just stared filming at a Music video in St pete on the 14th and While I’m on the road our show producer Reggie Reg will just run some best of shows from this as well as last season.   Again dont ask me where it comes from but in the fourth quater there is always hope.  I have been blessed to see that the team still running hard is going to be the winner, and we are still running hard.

Hard work paid off… again.

What’s really going down? Its 2010 I haven’t updated since last year on Dec 1st I promised every week post but its not possible. I will try harder.  Anybody who knows me can attest that I do keep it 100 Real-Real.   Listen it has been a tough year 2009 has been really tough, A major break up and heartbreak with my ex. Every other lady friend I ever had has new babies, girls too (Georgia, Lakeland and Tampa) and GE ended my contract with them after 3 years so income was a no come.
Christmas that just passed was horrible. I sat at home and couldn’t wait for Jan to get here.  There were a couple of days that I didn’t have $50 to my name.   I went low and thought.   Nobody saw me for 4 days.  My phone was off along with the cable and internet, didn’t have the bill money.  All I had was my computer and my brain.   So I thought, and I thought.  What do I have and what can I make to fix this situation in 2 weeks for quick cash and then 2 months for bounce back money.
The Idea came in while alone thinking put the show on DVD and hit the streets.  Club Patrol is already a success on TV. 

The season is over until Jan 18. Go to the streets while folks are cheering in the holidays.  Needless to say I ordered some Blank DVD’s Posters and cases (got sponsors to pay for advertising spots then used the money for supplies) filmed a couple of quick commercials, put together two 30 minute “Best Of” Club Patrol clips along with some extra’s and went to work.  I already have the equipment to case and package from the 2 previous short movies we made a few years ago.
Needless to say it worked and new we are going to put out a DVD per month for the whole year. Doing all the things together with a clear head I have 2 music Video, a wedding and 2 TV commercials all coming by Feb 13.  So now we have money to go to Miami for Superbowl, purchase more blank DVD’s and cases and Sunday we are going to the A&R Awards here in Tampa. Not broke no more. The sun is now shining on Moore St.

Kel is doing well also.  He came over during the holidays with his mom (over her now) andgrandma, all he wants me to do is take him to the park and see the ducks, so thats what we did.
By the way I didnt mention to anyone really but my brother is home from the hospital (Jan 10) after a 4 month bout with a serious infection he got after a routine operation.  Everything was against me Christmas 2009 but the Hard work has paid off…again.

Another month of events

That’s exactly what life is, another month of events. What makes the significant difference is how we plan, organize and display these events. First of all are these your events in your life or have time wasters invaded and placed their meaningless events in there. Or are you just watching other people have great daily and life changing events from the sideline. Anybody who knows anything about me knows I enjoy putting on the events in my life but you must couple the fun events with the mundane task, and the commitments to others. Basically I feel if you can juggle the events of your life just right with success, fun, helping and caring for yourself and others you can get everything you want out of life. Napoleon Hill said it best that all things begin with a thought coupled with a burning desire. If you want to run with the fast pack just make up your mind that’s what you want couple that with a desire to obtain that goal, set you some plans and get moving.

Our show “Club Patrol” is a testament to thoughts and desire.   Just this summer I told one of the host that we needed to be on TV, dont ask me where that came from and futhermore how we was going to do it.   Anybody can get a show on Youtube but I wanted TV.  A long story short we are popular in Tampa and bumped into a guy that had a Show but his host moved away. We have show host and a great concept with Club Patrol.   We teamed up with Reggie Reg and have been on since Sept 09 and coming back for another season in Jan 2010.   I live my life one event at a time because its just another month of events.

The world as seen over 100 MPH

We are constantly moving and I view the world at high speeds all the time.    I know tha means we’re pushing closer towards our end but there is lots to do in the middle.   We had a ball this weekend.   It was almost a blur but we had some camera’s to catch it all and help us slow down today.   From Wednesday until Saturday we have went to 6 night clubs (we need more footage for the show) filmed our show on Thursday instead of the usual Friday, took time out for the little one on Thursday

I also attended the Democratic Black Caucus Gala at the Hyatt Airport hotel.    I have to take one full day just to catch up.    I love it out here (B list public figure).   I had the opportunity to rub shoulders and eat dinner with up and coming politicians and activist.   I see this as the path Felton Moore may take in the next 5 years or so but for now it is all about “Club Patrol”.  

 

This is our current gift we are well known and respected and we are going to continue to work hard every weekend (which starts on Wednesday) and get better at what we do.   I couldnt do it without the ladies, they are always willing to come out and film, take pictures, meet fans, add them to facebook, what ever is necesary.   We are going to continue to give a quality product to the public and we are going to be the best Club or party show out.

Finally made it to TV

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am a focused individual.   Well after 1 1/2 years of focus (not total until june) we have finally made it to TV with our “Club Patrol” show.   We are currently just on local Public access channels in the greater Tampa Bay area for now but we have the road map to greatness and a car.   So basically after lots of difficult work and dragging ourselves around late nights we have finally moved from youtube to your tube.   This is a stepping stone on the path that we have planned we are next looking at getting our own 30 minute blocks on a music network then venturing off into other markets to film and broadcast their clubs. Of course a reality show or 2 is up our sleeve as well  so stay tuned to Feltonmoorefilms and Clubpatrol and we will keep it moving since we finally made it to TV and the road map says to keep going when we reach TV.

This is 100 MPH territory

I have been out here since 2007 (Felton Moore as a “B” list public figure) I am well know for music video’s, club promotions, etc.   But what I am most known for is the Ladies I have with me.   I don’t hang with model chics but the ladies with me are sexy, confident and have personality.   Anytime I go out alone someone asks where is so and so?  you don’t have no escorts tonight?

The answer to that is No because this is 100 MPH territory out here and some times I have got to move solo just to make certain that I keep up.   I go out Thursday – Monday every week.   Some times I am studying a spot, other times I am making a connection and most of the time we are filming our show “Club Patrol”.   That’s when you see me with the ladies.

But I don’t want to be known for that, I want to be known as Felton Moore The Russell Simmons of Tampa.    I want to have my hand in a variety of different ventures, Assist other folks and my team to reach their goals and most of all be the go to guy for any “A lister” that comes to town and needs something.   I was watching an episode of “Unique Whips” where Will went to miami to look for a shop to purchase, he meets Fat Joe at the radio station and Joe tells him “look go see Trick Daddy first he’s like the mayor here”.   I want to be that guy for Tampa and if we keep moving at triple digit speeds in our hustle I / we will be that because I am everybody that I work with.   Keep up.

Enjoying Florida

I lived in Atlanta for nine years and I met a lot of people and had a great time while I was there but nothing compares to Tampa.  I am enjoying Florida.  Saturday past Myself and Miss Monika (Chae wasn’t available) went to a private party at the IMAX theater of all places.  My friend Sonny Glover and his crew put this on.  What they do is take the lobby of the theater and transform it into a night time entertainment area.  There is a DJ stand, a stage, 3 VIP seating areas, a full bar and all this is right by the popcorn stand which is closed.  I loved it.

Nine years in Atlanta and I haven’t partied like this there.  I wasn’t part of the “In” crowd I guess.  Now here I am club patrolling (my youtube show) and promoting events so that puts me on the inside.   The place is on Channel side Tampa and it’s called Dolce Vita when they have events, but it is really just the lobby of the IMAX theater.  Gotta love this town.  Club Patrol is coming to cable TV real soon.

This is our new flyer.  I know Miss Monika likes this one because she wasnt on the last one. (She just joined us this sumer) Chae and I have been at this for over a year now and I think we a finally coming up with a formula that is enjoyable and entertaining.  At least I’d like to think so.  Keep clubbing and as Sonny Glover would say “Stay thirsty my friend”.

Another week of Hustle

This Weekend just past was crazy.  We we’re running from Thursday (normal weekend) til Sunday night. During that time I realized this is just another week of hustle.  Wednesday I get with all of the online promoters in Tampa to see whats going down Thurs – Sat.  I have 2 spots that I’m contracted to pass by then I freestyle the rest, well we do.  Chae Monet, Miss Monika and myself.  We also take along a still camera person and our Security guy(when we can get him).

Anyway this weekend we did 3 clubs thursday, 2 friday and then Saturday for our “Follow me Saturdays”  We went to the Hip Hop Awards in Orlando FL.  This started at 6:30pm for Red Carpet, can you say UN Or Gan iz Ed.  It was nice and all they held it on International drive a the Holiday Inn near Wet and Wild.  We were hustling to get there from Tampa on time. Two of the ladies that went with us left on Friday and stayed the whole weekend, the rest of us drove over Saturday at 5:30 3 cars hustling.  We made it ther with no time to spare we needed 3 media passes and 2 nominee passes and the rest would pay for tickets.  When I tell you it was 7:20 before we got in, got search by the Nation of Islam security (who I love their work) and finally got our “M” put on our hand.  I have been to other events in other cities put on by this same group, They even hired me to Film and make a DVD of the last award show in Tampa.  I was a nominee back in November but when I say Un org AnIz eD it was that.  But overall it was a great event a real nice turnout of artist and industry people plus it looks good on film.  Its already on my Youtube page feltonmoorefilms.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAs1TW8fm2Q

I had a great time and all of our folks did too.  After the award show we went downtown O-town and hit a few of the drinkers and partiers locations.  We took a ton of Face book pics they are under Hood Edition.

We did a lot of drinking too they had stuff on special 2 for 1 3.50 ice teas, beer on special it wasnt my fault.  But I did get a sunday photo shoot out of the whole experience.  There was a new artist getting into town and wanted to do some publicity pics before the weekend was over so we arange that for him.  Myself and Chocolate Barbie stayed in Orlando sunday to do the photo shoot.  We never rest, I promise.

and his mom wanted me to come and get him to take some pictures so we did that and hung out for a while, just me and him (he talks so good now).  Actually my friend Monica came with us and brought her 3 year old son also.  So the weekend turned into another week of hustle.

I need an assistant

Well I’m finally back writing.  I have been so busy with the NABJ convention events that I am just getting back to normal.  I need an assistant (but no budget yet).  The NABJ convention came to Tampa for a week of networking, education and leisure.  I was there for most of it.  My friend Eric Deggans from the St. Times is the president of the local chapter so myself and a few other key community organizers put in a lot of work to make the events a big success.  We first had the business and religious leaders welcome the journalist, then we interviewed the journalist themselves.  Its on youtube.com/NATCTV a news and activist site I administer also. We were  at the convention center, at the Aquarium party with (Roland Martin CNN and Tom Joyner) meeting people who were  enjoying Tampa.  It was big.  Over 1500 attendees, I enjoy being a part of something.

"Follow Me Saturdays"

So my next focus (I am goal oriented) is “Follow Me Saturdays”.  This is Chae Monets’ brainchild (host of Club Patrol) but I am all in.  What this will do is allow us to promote a variety of different clubs without spending the whole night there and also we will be able to get some of our local fans to hang out with us and be apart of the show.   So far I have a few clubs and promoters interested.  Vybe Ent. does Honey Pot, Neo Ent. had Floyds and The Kennedy, Team Icon has Temple, etc.  So what Chae figured out was because we have had so much trouble with owners changing their minds, management being changed mid contract we would simply do a variety of clubs in one night. Have the promoters pay a small amount for our promo service but we are collecting from 3 or 4 groups in one night so it is the same as having our own night at a club.  In addition we dont have to baby sit the front door (we can film) we dont have to worry about owers or managment changing mid stream (we have more than one club per night).  One location becomes uncertain simply replace them with a new one and keep rolling.

A genius plan and the promoters I have talked to are all ready to get started.  We have done a couple of test runs with ourselves (Me and Chae) plus 2 others to see what the quick moving from club to club feels like and also to get the promoters used to us coming in with guests (we dont pay or stand in lines).  “Follow Me Saturdays” is going to be the Club Patrol Show on the road to many locations in one night with a select few guests.  Each Club will get their exclusive footage to play on the screens or post on youtube and facebook. 

In addition we will send out a weekly event to our network of friends/fans stating which clubs and what time we will be filming (we got security).  We will also make a compilation show for the guest who attended the clubs with us and our youtube channel.  Clubhopping 401. This should be a senior level class.  I am looking forward to this, Chae Monet scored big.

Weekend almost over no time to rest

Whats up again.  The weekend is almost over and well there is no time to rest.  I have business guest coming to town in 3 weeks, I am trying to start a new saturday night event called “Follow me Saturdays” by August 1st and I also have to move my Thursday night to a new club.  (Club owners be trippin’) I may write  a whole blog on club owners but we have had too much trouble with our Thursday “Krazy Azz Thursdays”.  By the way I am a Video director first but club promotions have paid my bills for almost 2 years so I have incorporated the 2 together “Club Patrol” is my youtube show that gets me into club then allows me to assess where they need help,  then move into promoting a night.  So far My group “Hood Edition” has 3 clubs wed – Fri and I am working on a Saturday event of basically club hopping.  I got to see My little buddy (ex step son) Jake today, we hung out at the park and took a few pics.  (you’ve read the story about my ex) I’m over her but the scars are deep we go back to March 05 thats a long time off and on again but now its deffinetly off for sure.  I was glad to see the baby he’ll be 2 in Sept and her mom (Jakes grandma) will bring him around every week or so that wayI can still see him and even help him out if he needs something.  He’s a cute kid and I do really feel sorry for his mom because she doesnt have good judgment of guys and I see this new one going down a bad path but I have left the building.  Get at me no time to rest August is coming.
